Angela M. Schmidt

Currently based in Boston, Massachusetts, Angela Schmidt is a Marketing and Sales Assistant for the MIT Press. She previously interned with both the Marketing and Social Media teams at the press, and has additional experience working in publishing as a manuscript review intern at Harvey Klinger Literary Agency. A graduate of Boston University's College of Communication, she also has a background in agency public relations and has worked across the entertainment, food & beverage, and fashion industries. At Boston University, she worked as an Account Supervisor and an Account Executive at PRLab, the longest-running student-led PR agency in the country. 

 

Influenced by her childhood in San Francisco and living in close proximity to the beach, Angela has a lifelong love of swimming and is a certified scuba diver, and dreams about diving at the Silfra Fissure in Iceland one day. She spends her weekends writing, journaling, and reading voraciously, while constantly putting her marketing background to use in her attempts to goad her friends, family, and coworkers into reading her favorite books (and has achieved a surprisingly high success rate). When she doesn't have her nose buried in a book, you can find her hunting for little free libraries, getting lost in YouTube video essays or trashy reality TV, and monologuing to anyone who will listen about animation as a high art form or the necessity of the Oxford comma.
